Ivan Gawaseb (20) appeared alongside three minors on charges relating to murder and robbery. Their case has been postponed until 19 March for further investigation. The three minors were released in the custody of their parents while Gawaseb was free on bail of N$ 2000-00. They are accused of allegedly murdering a 34 year old man in Walvis Bay in June 2009. The deceased was allegedly beaten to death by the four suspects and left in a street in Kuisebmond.
Rape and assault cases
Shininyangu Tulonga (32) who appeared on a charge of rape had his case postponed un-til 8 April for further investigation. He was released on bail of N$ 5000-00 on the condition that he does not contact the victim or her family.
Sameul Gowaseb who appeared on charges relating to assault and domestic violence had his case postponed until 14 March. He was granted bail of N$ 500-00 on the con-dition that he may not threaten or swear at his victim.
Loide Mukuya(28) had her assault case postponed until 17 Feb-ruary. She remains free on bail of N$ 500-00.
Drug related cases
Salomon Amutenya (33) was granted bail of N$ 1000-00 for the possession and deal-ing of drugs. His case was postponed until 20 May for further investigation.
Petrus Naule had his case postpone until 13 May. He appeared for the possession of drugs. He remains free on bail of N$ 1000-00.
Johannes Ndsilishange had his drug possession case re-manded until 12 May. He was granted bail of N$ 1000-00.
Drunken driving cases
The 22-year- old George van Schalkwyk had his drunken driving case wit-drawn on the request of the Public Prosecutor, Petrus Grushaber, as there were no witnesses to testify. Van Schalkwyk appeared on charges relating to reckless and negligent driving. He also re-fused to have his blood sample taken following his arrest.
Windhoek resident, Demetrius Udjombala(36) had his drunken driving case remanded until Tuesday for the continuation of his trail. Petrus Shiwele (38) and Johannes Amunyela had their drunken driving cases remanded to 16 February. Both had their bail money of N$ 4000-00 provisionally cancelled as they two did not turn up for their court hearing.
The drunken driving case against Danville Morne Dyers (21) was postponed until 15 June for further investigation. He remains free on bail of N$ 4000-00. The drunken driving case against Paul van Deventer was remanded until 3 May.
Theft and the possession of suspected stolen goods cases
Freddie Barendse who appeared on a charge of theft was granted bail of N$ 500-00. His next appearance will be on 17 March.
Henrick Amupanda (22) had his theft case postponed until 11 March for further investigation. He remains free on bail of N$ 300-00 while a warrant of arrest still remains in force against his co-accused Shuweni Shilongo.
Johannes Kapepo (24) was granted bail of N$ 500-00. He appeared for the possession of suspected stolen goods.
Brendon Losper who appeared for the possession of suspected stolen goods had his case post-poned until 8 March. He remains in police custody.
Nikanor Mangandu (50) and Paulus Mukendua had their theft case remanded to 8 April for plea and trial. They remain free on bail of N$ 500-00 each. |
