Four learners of Kuisebmond Secondary School off to Sweden as part of an exchange programme
· Eveline de Klerk Four learners of Kuisebmond Secondary School (KSS) will visit Sweden as part of an exchange project between KSS and Nösnäsgymnasiet, a high school in Stenungsund, Sweden. The learners will be accompanied to Sweden by their teacher, Mrs. Strauss. They will stay at the school for about 10 days at the Nösnäsgymnasiet and then visit the former mayor of Walvis Bay and the Namibian Ambassador to Sweden, Theresia Samaria in Stockholm. The programme between the two schools is supported by a project called Flamingo (in Stenungsund) and a Walvis Bay based organi-sation, the SWAN Assembly Trust. A group of Swedish students are currently visiting Namibian as part of the exchange programme and they visited the Mayor of Walvis Bay Uilika Nambahu last Friday. According to a report posted on the website of the Walvis Bay Municipality, the students showed a keen interest in the development of the Apartheid Museum, its progress and the importance of such an institution. The students also visited the northern parts of the country. They were amazed by the cultural diversity and different lifestyles of the Namibian peo-ple. During their visit the students are expected to compile various projects from experiences in Namibia focussing on HIV-/AIDS, tourism, social welfare, women's issues and different living conditions of the Namibia
