Tenders have been called for the construction of a taxi rank that will service commuters between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund.
Although construction is yet to commence the taxi rank is expected to be completed at the end of May 2010. According to Walvis Bay Municipal Traffic Chief, Mr. Eben Platt the new taxi rank is fully funded by the Walvis Bay Municipality.
It will be constructed on the open space next to the Mandume Mataumanene Fire station in Kuisebmond and will provide a solution for the current chaotic taxi operations that exist between Walvis Bay and Swakopmund.
