Education is regarded as the key to a better future and it also plays a vital role in the lives of children from a tender age.
In this regard the Tutaleni Pre-primary School was established to act as a stepping stone for children from Tutaleni and to groom them to be ready for primary school.
The pre-school is currently experiencing a shortage of classrooms to accommodate all learners and is now re-questing the public at large and the business community to assist them with any kind of donations. Konsetha Auchas , the chairlady of the pre-primary told the Namib Times that it was also difficult for parents to find space for their children at other pre-primary schools in Kuisebmond.
“The distance from Tutaleni to Kuisebmond also made it difficult for them to enrol their children at pre-primary schools in Kuisebmond. Most of the children at the pre-primary are orphans and vulnerable children that cannot afford the monthly fees and we also provide them with food at the school” she said.
She added that the pre-primary has grown to such an extent it is currently accommodating 60 learners. The school is operating from a single classroom that is built from pallets and cardboards that were donated by parents and the Walvis Bay community.
The school decided to raise enough funds this year that will enable them to build at least two classrooms and decent bathroom facilities for the children.
So far, parents mana-ged to raise N$ 1000-00 for the school. Therefore we humbly request any good Samaritans to assist us to create better pre-school facility for the learners.
