18-year old arrested after stab-death of Swakopmund man

The police has arrested an 18 year-old suspect who is accused of murdering 30 year-old Abednego Kazondandona in the early hours on Sunday morning. According to Acting Regional Crime Investigations Co-ordinator for Erongo, Erastus Iikuyu, the incident occurred outside Shinedima Bar in Mondesa.

According to initial investigations the victim was found unconscious at 00:30 by friends, lying in a pool of blood. He had a deep stab wound in the neck. The friends took Kazondandona to the Swakopmund State hospital for medical treatment, but due to the serious nature of the injuries he was transferred to Windhoek. “Unfortunately, he died at 05:15 between Karibib and Okahandja while he was being transported by Ambulance,” Iikuyu said. An 18 year-old suspect, known as Vudala, was arrested and is set to make his first appearance in the Swakopmund magistrates court today.
