7000 Passengers to embark in Walvis Bay during Jan 2019

The port of Walvis Bay is set for a double record in its passenger liner business. It the first time in the port’s history that three passenger liners will be alongside at the same time. On 16 January, MSC Musica, MSC Nautica and Queen Elizabeth call at the same day.

Just a day earlier on 15 January, the passenger ship Aida Aura will be alongside. This week Regent Seven Seas Explorer (picture above) called at Walvis Bay and this is where the second record for the port is vested in. The five passenger liners’ combined would ensure that a record number of 7 000 passengers disembark at Walvis Bay during January. Visiting passenger liners is a crucial source of business for the coast’s tourism, retail and hospitality sectors.
