A man dies in Walvis Bay State Hospital two days after he was attacked by unknown men

Rudorf Enghali Autanga a 36 year old man died in the morning hours of 15 November at the Walvis Bay State Hospital. Autanga was apparently bleeding from the nose and complained of stomach ache when he returned home on the morning of 13 November.

Chief Inspector Erastus Iikuyu of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in Erongo region who confirmed the incident said it is alleged that on Saturday, 12 November at about 06:00 the deceased left his residence at house number 4728, Bangani Street, Kuisebmond to go to work at Gendev Fishing Company. After knock-off time he passed at some local bars where he allegedly spend most of the evening. Iikuyu further said that at 03:00 on Sunday morning the deceased apparently decided to walk home passing through Kuisebmond Soccer Stadium. While in the stadium three unknown male persons approached him from behind and attacked him, took his shoes, cell phone and wallet. He was apparently bleeding from the nose and complained of pains in the stomach by the time he arrived home, but there were no visible wounds on the body. According to Iikuyu the family took Autanga to the Walvis Bay State Hospital where he was admitted and died on the morning of 15 November. Iikuyu said the police were only informed of the incident after the deceased has died.
