Accused of Rape

Amidst renewed calls by many in the community to curb violence again women and children, a Mondesa resident in Swakopmund is accused of forcing himself onto a 20-year-old woman.

The spokesperson of the Police in the Erongo Region, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu reported that the 21-year-old suspect Maxwell Roman found the victim walking near Mondesa Cemetery and he forcefully took the victim to his house, where he undressed and raped her. Roman was expected to make his first appearance before Swakopmund magistrate court yesterday.

A 28-year-old man was arrested in Usakos over rape claims involving a 13-year-old. of several incidents of rape with a minor over a period of 3 months.

Nandipite Kapofi is charged with Contravening Sec 2 (D) of Combating of Rape Act, Act no. 8 of 2000 and was set to appear at Usakos Magistrate Court yesterday.
