Another man commits suicide after argument with girlfriend

On Friday, around 23:30, Simeon Shilunga (38) shot himself in the head with his licensed 9 mm pistol shortly after having an argument with his girlfriend. The man ended his life in his own living quarters on a farm near Otjimbingwe where he and his girlfriend worked.
The incident was confirmed by the police regional crime investigations coordinator for Erongo, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu. It is alleged the deceased shot himself in the head at farm Wilsonfontein in the Otjimbingwe area.
The argument between the couple allegedly took place at the girlfriend’s room and the deceased is said to have moved over to his residence and shot himself, expplained Iikuyu.
No suicide note was left. The deceased’s next of kin were informed.
The body of the deceased was taken to Walvis Bay police mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
This is the second suicide report in the region which involves arguments between lovers. The first incident was two weeks ago when a man jumped off the Jetty in Swakopmund after he allegedly had an argument with his girlfriend [See related article in today’s edition].
