Assault and theft leave two behind bars

It is alleged that Stanley Goreseb (38) assaulted and kicked his 28-year-old girlfriend all over her body and bit her on the left arm on Friday at around 23: 00 in the DRC suburb, Mondesa.

Goreseb was arrested and was due to appear in the Swakopmund magistrate’s court yesterday. An investigation continues. A case of common assault read with the provisions of the Combating of Domestic Violence Act was opened at the Mondesa police station.

In another incident, also in Mondesa, a 19-year-old Sakeus Naubert was arrested after he allegedly smashed the front left window of a complainant’s vehicle, stole a wallet with N$610 cash and a bundle of keys valued at N$1 460. Only N$400 of the cash and the bundle of keys were recovered. The incident took place near Makiti Bar on Friday at around 23:00. The suspect was due to appear in the Swakopmund magistrate’s court yesterday. An investigation continues. The same suspect was also found on Saturday at around 12:00 with suspected stolen property. These include four cell phones valued at N$8 000. He failed to give satisfactory account of having these items in his possession. The incident was confirmed by NamPol’s Crime Investigation Coordinator for the Erongo Region, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu.
