B2 coastal road off limits to trucks

Goods vehicles (light and heavy trucks) weighing more than five tons will not be allowed to travel on the B2 coastal road between Swakopmund and Walvis Bay from 12 December 2017 to 19 January 2018.

The Ministry of Works and Transport imposes this restriction every year in the interest of road safety during the festive season.
Vehicles must instead make use of the C14/C34 behind the dunes for this period. Truck operators must ensure to inform their operations departments of this temporary measure, in order to prevent being inconvenienced by being turned around at the road block at Afrodite Beach (Dolphin Beach).
