Boom gates at last a reality for rail crossings

The CEO of TransNamib, Johny Smith, confirmed over the weekend that talks would soon start with the Walvis Bay local authority to install boom gates at the two railway crossings in town.
Smith spoke to namib times at the scene in Hannah Mupetami Road where a train and a truck collided early on Saturday morning. The collision closed the rail line for several hours. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
