Borman took 2nd place at the Arnold Classic

Legendary professional bodybuilder Arnold Schwarzenegger on Friday opened the Arnold Classic Africa sports event and enjoyed a South African homecoming to the country where he won the Mr Olympia title 41 years ago.

The actor‚ politician and businessman has brought the inaugural Arnold Classic Africa to Johannesburg this weekend. It is being held at the Sandton Convention Centre and it showcase 48 sports and events‚ featuring 11‚000 athletes. Alethea Borman, from Rehoboth and living in Swakopmund, took second place at the Arnold Classics. She was beaten by Spain and in third place was SA’s body fitness champ from, Karen de Beer.
“I am very happy for my achievement, and for all the Namibians that supported me, thank you. My friends and family who supported me with my event that was held earlier this month in Swakopmund, a huge thank you,” Alethea said.
On Saturday Arnold Classic Africa visitors and athletes received a Hollywood treat when the iconic body builder went on a walkabout at the Sandton Convention Centre, spent most of the day meeting fans, visiting exhibitions and showing support to various sport codes that were on display.
