Buchters hear the whistle of a train again

A former Walvis Bay resident phoned the namib times yesterday morning and said it is a hustle and bustle as residents of Lüderitz were flocking to see the first train in as many as three years again arriving in the town. Although the reconstruction of the railway line concluded a few years ago, TransNamib did not reinstate a railway service immediately. At the time of going to press it was an open question whether a regular train service would be restored for Lüderitz straight away or whether it was a test run like a few years ago.  The town last saw a regular railway service in 1994.
