The Namibian Ports Authority reported on Monday this week, Bulk Carrier, African Avocet loaded about 55 000 MT of bulk salt, a top volume-based Namibian export commodity.

Salt can be shipped as bulk or bagged, and is loaded evenly in the ship’s hull to maintain the vessel’s stability under the heavy load. The next port of call is Richards Bay, South Africa.
Walvis Bay Salt Refiners celebrated its first export of 50 000 tons of bulk salt to the United States of America during a quay side function on 22 January 2018 in the port of Walvis Bay.
