Business community joins hands to beautify Karibib

Local businesses at Karibib recently joined hands to plants trees, as part of the drive to beautify the town.

Karibib is located approximately 170km from the coast and is host to Namibia’s oldest gold mine, Navachab Gold Min. There are also various marble processing plants in operation and the town serves as the gateway to- and from the coast from the country’s interior.
Karibib is a town with a rich history and an equally promising future. This is part of the town’s endeavours to make it more attractive and signals our tripartite commitment to planting deep roots into the socio-economic development of the town.
The town is also working towards economic growth, aided by the entrance of new industries as well as the mine’s expansion plans.
George Botshiwe, the Managing Director of Navachab Gold Mine said the trees chosen for this purpose represents the people of Karibib. “It is a tough, hardy battler which can stand up to wind, sun and dry soil – pretty much like the people of Karibib – resilient and motivated. And we look forward to a long journey with the Karibib family on a path of new pros-perity and growth.”
The twenty trees were sponsored by the local Woermann Brock dealership.
