Capricorn Eagles won first game

The Namibian Capricorn Eagles on Thursday beat Uganda by 4 runs in their opening game at the ICC Women’s T20 Africa Regional Qualifiers from the 9 – 19 September at the Botswana Cricket Association Ovals in Gaborone.

The Capricorn Eagles are competing in an 11-nation tournament that is part of the African regional qualifiers, pathing their way  towards the 2023 ICC Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa.
The Capricorn Eagles will compete in a seven-day long tournament at the Botswana Cricket Association Ovals in Gaborone in Group B against Cameroon, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Uganda with host Botswana, Eswatini, Mozambique, Rwanda, Tanzania and Zimbabwe in group A.
The 20 over format tournament with two groups of 6 and 5 teams in the round-robin face with the top 2 teams from each group qualify for the semi-finals. The winner of the tournament will qualify for the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Global Qualifier.

Yesterday, 9 September 2021, the Capricorn Eagles played against Nigeria and on 13 September, BCA 2 Namibia vs Sierra Leone at 12:30 with their final group B game against Cameroon on 14 September at 09:30.
The semi-final will be on 17 September at 09:15 and 14:15 with the third-place play-off and the final on 19 September at 09:15 and 14:15 respectively.
All the games will be broadcasted live on the Facebook page of Cricket Namibia.
