Chinese woman robbed and raped

The 60-year-old business owner in Omaruru fell victim to rape and assault on Tuesday around 19:00 when Alfeus Issac (19), overpowered her.

Issac allegedly went through the open door and hit the woman with an iron rod on her head causing a serious open wound and then he raped her. According to police reports, the suspect then took items valued at N$3742 and fled the scene. Issac was arrested on Wednesday at Ozondje, Omaruru and all items were recovered. The Chinese woman was taken to Omaruru State Hospital for medical treatment. Her injuries were not that severe as to be admitted in hospital. The suspect is expected to appear today at Omaruru Magistrate court. Investigations continue.
