Christo de Jager’s plights bear fruit

Veteran local authority and national politican Mr. Christo de Jager already appealed in 1983 for unified action in managing the coastal environment. Moreover, also in 1983 he called for the pro-clamation of a nature reserve in the enclave of Walvis Bay.

Mr de Jager’s words bore fruit many decades later, as Namibia today boasts a coastline that is protected from the Kunene River to the Orange River and two trans-frontier parks, one in Southwestern Angola and South Africa’s Northern Cape that link up with our Nami-bian parks.
