Classic ship to call
The world’s oldest full rigged tall ship, Sørlandet, is scheduled to call at Walvis Bay on 5 January next year. The vessel is a Norwegian heritage tall ship and was launched in 1927. The ship’s main purpose is to sail the world’s oceans and invite young people on board to learn the art of sailing and gain life- and traveling experience away from their homes and families. Sørlandet can reach a speed of 14 knots on her engine, but with her sails fully deployed she can reach 17 knots.
