CMA CGM Shipping Line Celebrates Its 40th Anniversary
Exactly 40 years ago on 13 September 1978, Jacques Saadé launched the first maritime service between Marseilles and Beirut with a single ship and 4 employees. This was the birth of a most remarkable human and entrepreneurial adventure.
Over the past 40 years CMA CGM SHIPPING LINE has become a recognized world leader present in more than 160 countries, with the expertise of 34,000 staff members at sea and on land, ready to take on new challenges.
To celebrate this momentous occasion, CMA CGM NAMIBIA chose to give something back to the local community in which they have been doing their daily business since 2010.
The local CMA CGM team spent the morning of the 15th September 2018 at the WALVIS BAY KIDS HAVEN CHILDREN’S HOME to jointly celebrate their 40th anniversary and also to hand over some much needed donations in the form of school stationery and food to the home. As the oldest and biggest children’s home in the Erongo Region this local organisation provides a safe haven and home for abused and vulnerable children.
This facility is always in need of funding to cover basic costs and to allow them to successfully assist and take care of orphaned and vulnerable children in the region.
If you wish to make contact with them please feel free to contact Maureen Baard (Chairperson) at 081 221 8081 or baardmaureen@ gmail.com.
CMA CGM NAMIBIA wishes to use this opportunity to thank the staff and children at the home for their hospitality and openness and at the same time also to thank all their customers for their continued support over the years.
