Coastal Raiders shines in the Bank Windhoek Indoor Hockey League

This year the Coastal Raiders managed to make their mark in the Bank Windhoek Indoor Hockey League. The 1st Ladies team (1st League) ended in 2nd position, whilst 2nd Ladies (2nd League) team got third place and the Men’s team (2nd League) ended with 6th place on the log.
The 1st Ladies team secured its second position after a historical 12-1 victory over NUST in the 1st league. They ended one point behind the log leaders. The team will chase the top position next year.
The 2nd ladies team improved incredibly, although trailing 3-0 in their last match against Windhoek Angels. They managed to move up to third position on the 2nd league log from 5th position the previous year.
The Mens’ team won their last match against Windhoek Old Boys (WOB) 2-1 which secured them a sixth place in their 2nd league. The Mens’ team are still new at the Indoor Hockey League, as their team have been established this year.
“We want to thank all our players, parents and organisers for a very successful Indoor League”. The Coastal Raiders hockey team committee are highly satisfied with the teams’ performance. “The ladies and men improved their game structures dramatically and at this rate indoor hockey at the coast we will be unbeatable over the next few years”, said Shaheed Abrahams, one of the coaches.
The team is currently taking a break from practice until September and wish to establish another Beach Hockey game this year.
