Coronavirus closes school gates at once

The Acting Minister of Education, Arts & Culture, Martin Andjaba, ordered the closing of all schools on Sunday for a compulsory period up to 14 April.

The order came into force with immediate effect.
The closure of the school followed a day after the Ministry of Health and Social Services confirmed two Covid-19 cases in Windhoek.
Measures to close schools are to inhibit people movement and to ban public gatherings like school sport events.
The start of the second term is therefore scheduled for 14 April and the last school day will be on 29 July 2020.
The third term starts on 24 August and the last school day is scheduled for 4 December.
