Corridor Group congratulates Government
The Walvis Bay Corridor Group extends its heartfelt congratulations to the Namibian Government, the Namibian Ports Authority and indeed the entire Namibian Nation for the foresight of investing in economic infrastructure that will greatly contribute to the economic upliftment of our country’s future generations.
The Inauguration of Namport’s new container terminal at the Port of Walvis Bay in the beginning of August, exhibits one of the single biggest investments into Namibian infrastructure in the last decade, which creates the huge potential to serve as a catalyst to enhancing economic activities for Namibia and our neighbouring countries.
The new container terminal serves as further testament to Namibia’s ongoing drive to position itself as a regional trade hub, linking our neighbouring countries to the rest of the world.
The WBCG remains actively involved in ensuring the effective promotion and marketing of our transport and logistics sector. With a strategic focus aimed at attracting new business, we look forward to the next 6 months of 2019 and indeed beyond.
It is now time to consolidate all other required services in the chain to ensure the smooth transit of envisaged cargo flows to and from Walvis Bay. Hence, the WBCG has embarked on several engagements with all relevant stakeholders in in and out of the country. Together we must ensure this investment is of regional importance and significance to the benefit of not only Namibia but all our land-linked neighbours.
We call once again on our stakeholders to join us as we move the Namibian House to the next level of ultimately becoming the preferred Logistics Hub in SADC.
