COSDEF hosts breakfast for its stakeholders

The Community Skills Development Foundation (COSDEF) had a breakfast meeting with its stakeholders recently. The purpose of the meeting was to share information, which pro-vides a better understanding about current and envisaged activities of COSDEF.
During his keynote address, the former Secretary-General of the Namibian Employer’s Federation (NEF), Mr Tim Parkhouse said there needs to be cooperation as well as sincere and clear communication between training institutions and the industry so that workers can obtain the necessary skills required.
COSDEF’s current focus is to enhance the quality of its training courses, to ensure they effectively address industry training needs and standards.
Consequently, it is imperative for COSDEF as a training institution, to collaborate with industry to provide training courses that can upskill employees to meet industry requirements.
Koesha Martin, the Business Development and Marketing Manager of COSDEF said during the procee-dings COSDEF offers various national courses at its eight Community Skills Development Centres (COSDECs) countrywide.
These courses focus on business services: Office Administration, Construction, Engineering, Bricklaying and Plastering, Manufacturing- Joinery and Carpentry, Metal Fabrication-welding, and Hospitality and Tourism up to level 3, as well as Clothing Production.
The meeting also provided the opportunity for COSDEF to share their achievements with their stake-holders.
