Covid-19 Quarantine facility at Karibib

QKR Navachab Gold Mine constructed a 4-bed quarantine facility in Karibib to reduce the burden on the government and in particular the Ministry of Health and Social Services in serving the community.

Managing Director of QKR Navachab Gold Mine George Botshiwe said the mine supports government efforts to fight this pandemic. The health and safety of the employees at the mine remains priority and they have taken a number of proactive steps to protect employees, the local community and the business Botshiwe said, “The N$2 million Klippenberg Covid-19 facility which is located on the mine’s golf course will encourage the 400-member staff to be tested for the novel coronavirus without fear and thus reducing the spread of the disease at the mine as well as in the town.”
“Should the need arise, and space is available, community members who cannot self-isolate will also be help at the facility.”
