Cymot Mixed Betterball Stableford

Saturday 18 August saw some excellent golfing weather – with a little bit of east wind making temperatures a whole lot better – there was a fair field of golfers to support the sponsors Cymot with a Mixed Betterball Stableford competition (Oh my does that multiplier increase the stress levels). Partnerships were well balanced and scores were close. We had 2-clubs on Number 7 coming from Gert Cloete and Stuart Salt. Winners: 1st: Dean Kock/Des Benson 67pts, 2nd: Chris Heunis/Grant Mather 66pts, 3rd: Michael Ludeke/Fanie Terblanche 65pts, 4th: Anton Bonifatius/ Thomas Shitaleni 64pts, 5th: Achmet Abrahams/Helmut Ndjendja 62pts. Thanks as always to the sponsor for their support of golf at Rossmund.
Sunday 19 August saw one of the most popu-lar sponsors back in charge with their annual Sages competition. Michael and Bernadine from Swakop Service Station – Engen as al-ways pulled out all the stops to make the day a huge success.
Weather conditions were cold and wet as the day started around 8 o’clock but cleared up as the day progressed. Gert Cloete produced the only 2-club of the day whilst Tim Botha was Nearest to the Pin on Number 7 and Warren Theron on Number 12. Tim Botha was the Overall Winner with 39pts followed closely by Des Benson on 38pts – there was a three-way tie for 3rd place between Tienie van Rens-burg, Tony Boesch and Sigi Baumgartner. Thanks to the sponsor everyone went home with a bit of something having enjoyed a bite to eat and a “doppie” by Number 19.
Wednesday 22 August – Absolutely Perfect Water was the sponsor with some great prizes on offer. Unfortunately Neil could not be with us on the day due to other commitments that included his birthday celebrations. Our 18 hole winner on 40pts was Dougie Smith with Athol McLean winning a count out on 34pts to take second place.
The 9 hole prize was contested over the front nine with Achmet Abrahams shooting 21pts followed closely by Johan Kok on 20pts. Well played to all and thanks for the support.
