Dance Sport School League coaching workshop held at the coast

Namibia Dance Sport Academy (NDSA) and Dance Sport Namibia (DSN) hosted the Dance Sport School League (DSSL) coaching workshop for teachers in the Erongo region at the Jan Wilken Indoor Sports Complex in Walvis Bay.

Twenty-two teachers from primary, combined, junior and secondary schools in the Erongo region attended the workshop.
Mrs Ernfriede Juliendina Stephanus from the Erongo Regional Council Directorate of Education, Arts & Culture, Venancius Rukero President of Dance Sport Namibia and Mr Timo Jantze National Dance Sport School League Coach presented the work-shop.
President of Dance Sport Namibia Venancius Rukero said there will be a refresher workshop in February 2022 just before the league will kick off and in March or May 2022 a national DSSL coaching and adjudicator’s workshop will be held for two teachers and one regional convener from each region.
According to Rukero, the national DSSL coaching and adjudicator’s workshop will be funded by the Olympic Solidary Fund from the International Olympic Committee through the Namibia National Olympic Committee and Commonwealth Games Association.
The school that attended the DSSL coaching workshop were, Nara PS, De Duine SS, Duinesig CS, Flamingo SS, Hillside Christian Academy, Seaside PS, Kuisebmund SS, Narraville PS, Tutaleni HS, Tutaleni PS, Alexander Private School, JTC Private School, Atlantic JSS Coastal HS, Festus !Gonteb, JPS Hangageni PS, Tamariskia PS, Westside HS, Henties Bay Private School, Brandberg PS, Namib HS, Riverside Private School.
With the support from the Erongo Regional Council Directorate of Education, Arts and Culture the DSSL also establish the Erongo Dance Sport School League (EDSCL) that will start next year in the region.
Rukero thanked all the schools, teachers, athletes and leaners as well as the parents for their participation ‘we are all together as the DSSL Family.”
