De Duine rugby festival

De Duine Secondary School held their annual rugby festival at the Narraville Sport Field in a windy Walvis Bay.
The organiser and De Duine rugby coach Karl Cookson said “My main goal of the festival was for everyone to come together and enjoy the game and have fun and to raise funds for the schools rugby and sport fields.
Cookson added that only Narraville primary School, Walvis Bay primary School with boys and girls from De Duine Secondary Schools and an Invitational team with boys from Pro-Ed Academy in Swakopmund and Walvis Bay Private High School of all the schools that were invited turn-up for the event.
Various sevens teams played against each other, along with under 13 teams of Walvis Bay Primary School and Narraville Primary School.
The results of the event were:
Walvis Bay Primary U/13 beat U/13 Narraville Primary 34 – 0
De Duine u/19 beat the Invitational u/19 team 34 – 14
Walvis Bay Invitational 7’s team beat the De Duine 7’s team 33 – 7 in the final of the sevens division.
The De Duine girls play two games against each other as perpetration for the Under 20 girls sevens trials to be held in Windhoek.
Karl Cookson thanked all the participants and the community for their support and invites the whole community to next year’s event as it will be better and bigger.
