Deadly shack fire

A Tulinawa resident died in a shack fire over the weekend. Shack fires remain a threat in this suburb of Swakopmund.

The spokesperson for the Namibian Police in Erongo, Deputy Commissioner Erastus Iikuyu, identified the shack fire victim as Eugen Rudy Uirab (32). It was Uirab’s shack. A candle is believed to have been the cause of the fatal fire incident.  The fire broke out between 03:00 and 04:00.
