Demonstration showcases Namibian navy’s readiness against piracy and to protect country’s territorial water

The Namibian Navy performed a demonstration of its combat skills and technical capability to protect Namibia at the Independence Beach north of Walvis Bay at the naval base yesterday, with the grand spectator none other than Defence Minister. The demonstration in particular highlighted the Navy’s skills with regard to anti-piracy operations and to safeguard the country’s territorial waters.

The demonstration yesterday was only the beginning of quite a busy two days for the navy, in lieu of the commissioning of the Namibian Marine Corps and Naval Training School, by President Hage Geingob, today at the Rooikop Military Base.
