Devastating car crash claims Namdock acting CEO

Heritha Nankole Muyoba, acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Namibia Drydock and Ship Repair company (Namdock), perished along with 4 other family members in a horrific motor vehicle accident near the Kongola checkpoint at Omega-3 (Bwabwata National Park) in the Zambezi Region on Wednesday morning, 5 January 2022.

According to reports, a rear tire burst was the cause of the accident. Reports further reveal Muyonda was one of seven occupants in the vehicle. Two people survived the accident, the 22-year-old driver of the vehicle, Amy Manga Sepiso and 3-year-old Nekaro Marus. Passengers, Heritha Nankole Muyoba (52), Namangolwa Nzundamo (40), Twambo Chanda (16), Masonke Muyoba Richard Klein (8) and Kasiku Nekaro (12) succumbed in the crash.
Muyoba spent her career paving the way for women in power, advocating for gender equality in the workplace and empowering women in the marine industry.
