Dolphins Rugby announces new coach

With the rugby pre-season dawning, Dolphins Rugby Club in Swakopmund announced their new coach Clayton Beukes. The announcement was made on Tuesday, at the club’s first training session for the year.

Dolphins Rugby Club, which was founded in the early 1980’s seeks to make their mark nationally. Speaking at the training session held at the Vineta North Rugby Field, Beukes who has coached teams such as Rehoboth, Reho Falcon and Rosh Pinah greeted the two dozen players who showed up encouraging them to show their commitment during training and towards the game.
Beukes expressed his love for the game reflecting on his personal journey as a player and coach.
“This is the one place you can work your stress out and help yourself become a better person by learning discipline on the field.” Beukes added.
Coach Beukes is known for his fast-paced game plan which makes use of technical advantage. With ball skill, technique and communication is a fundamental regiment for his coaching. “I would like them to have a firm foundation”, says Beukes.
There’s definitely much excitement with news of a new head coach with many old players seeing an opportunity to re-join the team. Players can expect a productive year with friendly features lined up to prepare the boys for their league matches.
