Eastweather batters the coastal towns

Eastweather (also known as bergwind conditions) has been battering the Namibian coast since last weekend, driven by the formation of cold fronts over mainland South Africa and subsequent cold weather over the interior of much of South Africa. Bergwind conditions develop as these cold winds warm up.
Residents of the coast are bracing for strong eastwinds today and also on Saturday in the morning and later in the day southwesterly winds.
Conditions return to more humid weather early next week, according to weather predictions.
