Epango Charity Group handed over about 136 blankets to vulnerable and orphaned children at Kamwandi Combined School in Henties Bay recently.
Epango Charity Group was established in 2011 by 9 women, who are passionate about helping the Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC’s) and senior citizens in Erongo region. Since 2013, the Epango donated about 800 blankets to Schools within the Erongo Region.
This year, the group was targeting to collect and donate 356 blankets for the OVC’s at Kamwandi Combined School, but only managed to collect 136 and they are still seeking help from the community to meet the target. There are still a few learners from the school who did not receive blankets. “It is against this background that we appeal to the community and organisations to assist us in making this dream a reality. Help Us To Help Others. We cannot do it without you! A blanket for just that one child will make a difference”, said Annete Tjaveondja of Epango Charity group.
