Financial shorfall for SAIMSA Games

The Walvis Bay Municipality (WBM) Team that took part in the Southern African Inter Municipal Games (SAIMSA) in Lusaka, Zambia from 22- 27 September 2019 had a financial shortfall.

An amount of N$200 000 was budgeted for in the 2019/2020 financial year, in order to enable the team’s participation in the SAIMSA Games in Lusaka. The money budgeted for the cost of transport, meals, fuel and other expenses was not enough to participate at the games.
With the team already indicating that they are participating and with no more funds available to participate the team experience a shortfall of about N$93190. The participating officials covered an amount of N$66 000 “N$1 500 by each of the 44 participating members” and the Walvis Bay Municipality Sports and Recreational Club contributed an amount of N$93 190.
