FNB Swakopmund donates sanitary pads and other necessities to girls
Yesterday (13 September) the staff members of the First National Bank of Namibia, Swakopmund Branch visited the Atlantic Junior Secondary school to donate sanitary pads, toiletries and books to the grade 10 girls.
FNB Swakopmund staff with the help of the FNB Foundation and Rainbow Hearts personally donated funds to assist the girls with necessities. A total of 45 girls from the grade 10 class each received two packets of sanitary pads, toothpaste and toothbrush, face cloth, bath soap, pencil case with pens, an A4 book and a chocolate. A “Plan B” bag was also given to their life skills teacher, Ms January.
According to Stephanie Van Wyk of FNB, the “Plan B” bag is for when the girls run out of sanitary pads.
“We feel they are more comfortable with their life skills teacher and they can approach her any time when they need them”.
The FNB Swakopmund Branch Manager Mare Steenekamp said this help comes just at the right time when learners are about to start with their final examinations.
The Principal of Atlantic Junior Secondary school Mrs Emma Iipinge was very thankful to the FNB Swakopmund branch staff and said learners should be thankful that there are people out there who loves and appreciate them
