Foreign nationals who overstayed their welcome have till 28 February to leave Namibia without fear for prosecution

Foreign nationals who have exceeded the period stipulated in their last permit due to Covid-19 lockdown or overstayed for any reason but are willing to return to their country of origin have until 28 February this year to do so to avoid arrest or prosecution for contravening the Immigration Control Act.

According to a statement issued by the Senior Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security, Aina Simon recently, all persons who decide to take advantage of the exemption during the validity period will be allowed to depart from Namibia without hindrance.
Foreign Nationals in Erongo are advised to register with the Swakopmund immigration offices before departure for opertional arrangements, if they have not done so already.
