Former Walvis Bay’ite recalls happy days in Walvis Bay

A former resident of Walvis Bay, Mr Hermanus Carstens paid a visit to the offices of Namib Times in Walvis Bay yesterday morning.

He resides in Pretoria and recently came upon a 1981-edition of the newspaper in his garage of his Waterkloofrif house.
“It brought memories back to me of me and my family’s happy days in Walvis Bay”, recalled Carstens.
Adding he started his school career at the Hoogenhout Primary School (where the office of the Receiver of Revenue in Walvis Bay is today). He matriculated at the Walvis Bay High School in 1965 and relocated to Pretoria where he went to university and eventually became a career business economist.
