Fuel price increases

This week, on Wednesday at one minute past midnight, fuel prices in Namibia are increasing by fifty cents a liter, both for petrol and diesel. For those planning to travel far for holiday destinations, this brings an unexpected twist to the fuel budget.
The Ministry of Mines and Energy in its announcement said the current exchange rate between the Namibia Dollar and the US Dollar is unfavourable for imports, including for fuel. Namibia imports 100 % of its petroleum products and buys on spot markets in the US Dollar currency.

The Walvis Bay pump prices will be:
95 Octane Unleaded Petrol: N$ 11.70 per liter
Diesel 500ppm: N$ 11.73 per liter
Diesel 50ppm: N$ 11.78 per liter
