Germany supports a feasibility study for the water supply to the central coast and central area of Namibia
Namibia’s Water Corporation (NamWater) held a workshop in Windhoek earlier this week where the country’s future water needs were weighed against available options to counter water scarcity in the future. Two very important options that came under scrutiny were water desalination and infrastructure to source water from the Okavango.
Germany, as one of Namibia’s closest development partners, was also represented at the workshop. In fact the German KfW Development Bank funded a study that must come with recommendations for a long-term solution to Namibia’s somewhat bleak water future.
