GIPF holds Stakeholders Consultative meeting

The Government Institutions Pension Fund held their first consultative meeting in Swakopmund last week Thursday at the Seaside Hotel and Spa. In attendance were the CEO David Nuyoma who opened the meeting under the theme: “Delivering better services through efficiency.”

Nuyoma emphasised the fund’s aim to deliver outstanding services and to enhance service delivery making GIPF a leading pension fund.
“The fund seeks to remain a beacon of hope for thousands that depend on it for their present and future”, said Nuyoma.
Speaking with regards to the payments of death benefits, Goms Menette expressed the introduction of a partial payment that would alleviate the current lengthy waiting period for beneficiaries.
Giving the keynote address, Hon Cleophas Mutjavikua governor of the Erongo region, echoed the public’s cry for better service delivery in the country and therefore appealed to the GIPF for quality service delivery citing the distances many must travel in order to access the services provided by GIPF.
The fund’s operation manager Elvis Nashilongo shed more light on the challenges they face and possible solutions. Nashilongo detailed various methods and times saving options that the fund has introduced giving stakeholders a firm understanding of the fund’s current and future ambitions
