Gone with the wind…

The Electoral Commission of Namibia’s (ECN) campaign to entice the Namibian public to register for later this year’s Presidential and National Assembly Elections ran into a windy glitch this week.

Officials who had to fix placards around Walvis Bay to advertise the up-coming registration campaign did not reckon with the windy conditions. The adhesive tape they used did not last minutes – at several spots in Walvis Bay placards were torn down and blown around by the wind. Pictures included here are three placards that were spotted in Sam Nujoma Avenue between 8th Road and Johnson Mabakeng Road (former 9th Road) and were basically useless for the initial intent.
∙ Namib Times reported the matter to the ECN’s operations department who undertook to take corrective measures.
