His House Tri Sport

About 180 runners and 100 cyclists participated in the fifth annual Tri Sport charity and Fun event for His House Care Centre in Walvis Bay.

The His House Care Centre situated at 14 Main Road Meersig Walvis Bay is a frail non-profit organization care centre that was established in 2005 and is registered with the Namibian Ministry of Health and Social Services as a convalescent home. The Care Centre create a homely and loving environment where the elderly and vulnerable are well cared for and treated with the respect and dignity, due to them as individuals.
With quite a long waiting list, His House currently has 22 residents. One of these residents, is a young disabled boy of 10 years who was legally removed from his parents and could not be placed into foster care.
The results for the 2019 Tri Sport and Fun event:
The overall trophy winners are Guan Packaging as they entered teams for the Golf, Cycling and Running events.
The best-dressed water point team award went to Gendev with thebest spirit water team award went to Die Voortrekkers whilst the best newcomers at a water point award went to The J-Sqaud.
The event started with a corporate Golf Day on Friday 25 July at the Walvis Bay Golf Course with eight teams participated. The Bank Windhoek Team emerge as the winners with Namib Diesel Team second and Golf Buddies in the third place. Wouter van Wyk from team Namib Diesel won the CTP 7, CTP 18 winner was Simon Celliers from team BDO and the LD 1 winner was Eugene Venter from team Guans Packaging team.
The 5km, 10km and 21km running events was held on Saturday 26 July with the start and finish at Lagoon Chalets in Walvis Bay.
