Hit-and-run: Walvis Bay resident free on bail

A well-known Walvis Bay resident has been arrested on multiple charges following a hit-and-run incident at Langstrand on Sunday night. Wilhelm Laubscher (pictured above) allegedly hit a teenager and a toddler who were both seriously injured.

The teen suffered a broken leg and a broken pelvis when the luxury station wagon allegedly driven by Laubscher hit them. The toddler suffered cuts and bruises. Laubscher allegedly drove off after the accident and was only arrested hours later.
Laubscher made a first appearance on several charges in the Walvis Bay magistrate’s court on Tuesday. He paid N$5000 bail. Laubscher returns to court on 13 June.
