The Metal and Allied Workers Union (MANWU) has called off its nationwide strike of Home Corp and Furnmart employees on Wednesday. Staff is expected to return to their workplaces today.

The strike has been going on for the past fourteen days, after the Union and the Company reached a deadlock during negotiations for a salary in-crease and other wage negotiations.
Speaking at a press conference in Windhoek yesterday, MANWU President Angula Angula said the strike has been called off as there was consensus now on a salary increment of 6 % across the board and free staff uniforms.
“During the process we have engaged the company and we have reached a consensus on the salary increment and free uniforms. This agreement will benefit all employees under the bar-gaining unit, unlike the first offer that was only beneficial to a certain category of employees”, Angula is quoted.
