House surrounded by sewage water

Residents of Kuisebmond left with their hands in their hair when a central manhole located in the corner of their yard in Dassie street started flooding their yard with a large amount of sewage water since Sunday.

The flooding has caused damage to floors and furniture as it entered the house. The level of the water has lowered as it has been absorbed into the ground. The situation has caused much upset as school going children reside at the house and had trouble getting ready for school yesterday morning. Residents of the house are forced to endure the horrible and overwhelming smell until something is done.
The incident was reported to the Municipality, who ensured that the problem would be dealt with as soon as possible, but by the time of going to press they had still not visited the house to assess the damage.
