The Iris Boutique Hotel, situated at 42 Kovambo Nujoma Drive in Walvis Bay, officially opened its restaurant on Friday during an extravagant event.

Overlooking the stunning Walvis Bay lagoon along, the Iris Boutique Hotel is in a class of its own. It offers a unique experience to the tourist and visiting businessman alike. It is a comfortable resting place for the tourist traveler and an excellent home away from home to the business traveler. The Iris Boutique Hotel in a very short period became a favorite to locals alike who enjoy comfort and elegance with the picturesque Walvis Bay lagoon as a backdrop.
At the opening, the General Manager, Filipe Clara invited guests, local residents, business people and day visitors to enjoy a freshly prepared breakfast buffet at the newly opened restaurant.
The menu changes every three months to enhance the unique culinary experience.
Under the able hands of the head chef, Tersia Mettler (Namibian Head Chef of the Year 2013), you can expect only the best quality and best prepared meal.
The menu reflects perfection and elegance and mirrors the perfect ambiance and relaxing atmosphere offered by the Iris Boutique Hotel.
Live music will be introduced in the near future, which means the client can sit on the deck, overlooking the Walvis Bay lagoon and make most of the relaxing atmosphere and what the restaurant has to offer.
The Iris Bar is one of our main features which was designed by Pieter Fox & Filipe Clara (General Manager) and constructed and put together hand-made by Namaqua Joinery & Shop fitting. The exclusive Whiskey Lounge is a bonus by the Iris Bar. It offering a unique experience of comfort and focuses on high-end whiskey blends, Cognacs and a variety of cocktails – all brought to you by a professional mixologist.
An exclusive wine cellar will also be an additional feature to the Iris in the near future.
Clara continued: “We offer three sea view rooms, one family room, three twin rooms, five double bed rooms and a honeymoon suite.
Each of our elegantly designed rooms are fitted with rain showers, massage showers or baths for ultimate relaxation.
Each room is also equipped with air conditioning and central heating, so you can be cosy or cool, depending on the season. Then there is Wifi, a television, Nespresso machine and conditioning body products” Clara added.
For bird watchers there are a multitude of migratory seabirds feeding only meters away. Leisure and sports activities such as kayaking, marine and dolphin cruises, 4×4 desert tours or quad biking can also be arranged on request. There is also assistance with airport transfers or car hire”.
Clara further said that they are delighted to announce that they are currently evolving and modernising their already beautiful hotel and restaurant and that their stunning venue is soon to be the trendiest night spot at Namibia’s coast, as well as the most elegant of venues for wedding or corporate event.

The operations in the hospitality sector within the group involves international experience in the hospitality industry, therefore, a set vision was created to offer more to the community at the coast, specifically in the service mentality and culinary culture”, explained Clara.
