Kudus in action
Kudus Rugby Club will be in action tomorrow Saturday, 18 May at Kudu Park in Narraville Walvis Bay.
Kudus will take on Rehoboth Rugby Club. With their formidable combination will give their all in the game that is expected to be a nail biting match.
The Kudu team lost a lot of experience and that is where the senior players in the team must lead. Allies, Aurelio Plato, scrumhalf Percy Nash and hooker Deriou Benson are among the men to face.
The Kudu practice field was crowded this week and a few tough choices had to be made to select their final two teams of 22 players. Keeane Wellman is back after missing out on injury to Western Suburbs last weekend and is likely to play from the bench. Marvin Kotze is also back from his job commitments and should cover the midfield with Donovan Hummel, who had an excellent match against Suburbs.
There is a huge effort awaiting the Kudu pack tomorrow, if they want to keep the men of Rehoboth in check. Lezardo Vos is in top form and tomorrow before his home crowd he will want to put up a good show.
Kudus 2 will want to make it right after they lost their way last weekend. The team is much stronger than the one who travelled to Windhoek last weekend and wants to give a much better performance of what is expected.
In such tough matches, set kicks are of the utmost importance and with Ulriato Lawrence the most consistent sharpshooter in the team, might just wear the number 10 jersey. Anyone who wants to be the fly-half will have to be on his best for the day because his opponent, Henrique Olivier, is a splendid player to watch.
The club apologises for what happened two weeks ago when Reho Falcon withdrew. The Rugby Union’s communication to Kudus revealed that it was the 2nd team of Reho Falcon that withdraw and that first team’s game would continue. Falcons did not travel to the coast because they did not have the necessary funds to come.
The club is confident that those who paid the entrance fee for the two friendly matches will donate it to the club. Kudus travel 6 times a year for the league matches to Windhoek and Rehoboth.
The Club is also currently busy with a raffle where a Kombi can be won. The Kombi will be on the field tomorrow. Tickets are available from management.
The entrance fees for tomorrow are N$10 for children and cars and N$20 for adults. The kiosk will be open.
