Long term domestic violence turns into a tragedy

Bianka Sharlene Waundja Vihanga (28) lost her life on Friday evening around 22:00 after she was allegedly assaulted with a stone and stabbed with a knife in the neck by her boyfriend during a fight and she died on the spot.
Detective Chief Inspector Erastus Iikuyu who confirmed the incident, said the incident took place at Erf no. B12-105A on Erastus Shatona Street in DRC, Swakopmund. A case of murder under Domestic Violence was recorded at Mondesa Charge Office. Iikuyu further said that the cause of the fight is not yet clear. Vihanga was an employee of Ombandje Security Services CC. The accused is known as Kamwengo Kambuse age 24 and it is alleged that he handed himself over to the police the same night.
Sources close to the couple said the accused suspect was a very jealous type and very abusive towards the deceased even though the deceased was very faithful and supportive to him. “Vihanga was a very good person, very quiet as well and down to earth. She will be dearly missed” said a source close to her. Sources further revealed that Kambuse threatened to kill Vihanga earlier that day after he was told by the deceased that the relationship was over. It is further alleged that the deceased was the bread winner of the house and the suspect was unemployed. “The next of kin of the deceased were informed and investigation continues” concludes Iikuyu.
Kambuse appeared in the Swakopmund Magistrate court yesterday (Monday) on a charge of murder and his case was remanded to 14 March for further investigation. The state have denied him bail and he will remain in custody.
